ACLaS is a non-government organization that fosters networking between Jamaican women scientists while also serving as a mentorship platform for young girls with an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The organization is headed by women who hold doctorates in STEM subject areas. These women can offer mentorship and educational support to younger members and facilitate a research environment for women at the early stage of their career. The success of this organization will promote more women and girls pursuing STEM and additionally, it will help to develop robust critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This, by extension, will further enable our society to collaborate with international groups to mitigate or eliminate common crises.
